From 01 May 2025, mobility in Salzburger Land will be redefined! As an overnight guest in Salzburger Land, you will receive the Guest Mobility Ticket and can use all public transport throughout Salzburger Land free of charge from the day of arrival to the day of departure. You will automatically receive the ticket from your host at check-in, either in printed form or, for the sake of the environment, in paperless form as a PDF or wallet version on your mobile phone. So nothing stands in the way of your stress-free and environmentally conscious holiday with full mobility. Whether it’s a trip to the city of Salzburg or a visit to the surrounding sights – with the Guest Mobility Ticket you can get everywhere easily and, above all, in an environmentally friendly way.
Our tip: As soon as you have completed pre-check-in, you can use public transport free of charge on your arrival with the Guest Mobility Ticket from the Salzburg border.

In what form is the Guest Mobility Ticket available?
The ticket is provided digitally or in paper form by the landlord. For reasons of sustainability, the digital version is preferable.

Who gets a Guest Mobility Ticket?
Every overnight guest in the province of Salzburg, except children under the age of 6, as they travel for free anyway. Each person travelling in a group also receives their own ticket.

Is it possible to bring dogs?
Yes, one dog per person is free of charge.

Does the ticket have to be reactivated every day?
The ticket is automatically valid for the entire duration of your stay and does not need to be reactivated every day.

When is the ticket valid on the day of arrival?
The Guest Mobility Ticket is already valid for travelling within the province of Salzburg. It can be issued at pre-check-in and can be used for both train and bus connections.

What is the mobility tax and why is it being introduced?
The mobility levy is a mandatory charge for overnight guests in Salzburger Land that will be introduced from May 2025. In the introductory phase, it will only amount to 50 cents per night and will be used to finance a free public transport ticket for all holiday guests. All public transport can be used during the holiday. The aim of the levy is to promote sustainable tourism, improve transport connections and reduce private transport.
