Travelling with children to Werfenweng

Situated only 45 kilometres south of Salzburg, Werfenweng is easily accessible via the A10 motorway. This is particularly advantageous if you are travelling with children and siblings and therefore prefer to take your own car rather than the train. Coming from Salzburg / Munich:

Via the Tauern motorway (A10) exit Werfen through Imlau and Pfarrwerfen to Werfenweng

Coming from Villach:

via the Tauern motorway (A10) exit Pfarrwerfen / Werfen, to Werfenweng

On very busy travelling days we recommend the following alternative routes: 

  1. From eastern Austria: via A9 – Liezen – Ennstal Bundesstraße to Radstadt/Altenmarkt – Bischofshofen – Werfenweng
  2. From Germany via Passau: via Linz – Voralpenkreuz – A9 – Liezen – Ennstal Bundesstraße to Radstadt/Altenmarkt – Bischofshofen – Werfenweng
  3. From Germany via Munich (only on snow-free roads!): via ‘kleines Deutsches Eck’ – Bad Reichenhall – Schneizlreuth – Lofer – Saalfelden – Dienten – Bischofshofen – Werfenweng
