Racer training of the highest quality
The program ranges from coordination and fitness training in the hall, which is offered from September to December, to free skiing, which the ski club offers every Friday afternoon with the Pro Ski School, to professional pole training, which our coach Balthasar “Hauser” Gschwandtner has been doing for decades. Balthasar is actively supported by his trainer colleague Andreas Pöttler from Pfarrwerfen.
The ski club introduces itself
The Ski Club Werfenweng can only exist in its present form because many honorary members, volunteers and sponsors are prepared to give their time and financial resources for the young athletes.
The board and officials consist of the following members: Waltraud Herrmann (Chairwoman), Peter Hafner (Deputy Chairman), Rosi Weissacher (Treasurer), Rupert Hafner (Secretary), Balthasar Gschwandtner (Sports Director and Coach).
Other team members as coaches and helpers: Balthasar Gschwandtner, Andreas Pöttler, Markus Gschwandtner, Georg Brandauer, Rupert Ramsauer as well as numerous helpers in the race and organization team.
Racing events
Numerous ski events are held by the Ski Club every year. For example, the school ski races at Werfenweng Primary School and SMS Werfen, club and local championships, children’s races in the Salzachtal Children’s Cup and the final of the regional children’s races are now a fixed date in the calendar of events organized by Ski Club Werfenweng.
The Ski Club currently has around 12 children and young people who are enthusiastic about racing. Despite the rather small number of racing children, the Werfenweng Ski Club has already taken 3rd place in the club ranking of the Salzachtal Children’s Cup for the second winter in a row. These figures show the quality of our young racers!
Young talents are very welcome
Children and young people with a passion for racing are always welcome. New sponsors and supporting members are also always welcome.
