Werfener Hütte circular hike Grießscharte
Tour description
The starting point is the Wengerau. Past the Wengerau-Alm and the Gamsblickalm, after 500 metres take the steep footpath past the Elmaualm and the Werfener Hütte. Continue to the Thronleiter (throne ladder) junction and take the downhill path which is slightly to the left. After meandering through the mountain pine field (very hot in summer!), hike through larch and mixed forests to the Mahdegg-Alm. From there, take the Faisten forest road past the Zistelberghof farm to the centre of Werfenweng.
